Revive’s story

Tommy Martin is the Owner and Lead Trainer here at Revive Canine. Tommy’s passion for training dogs started when he was 15 with a black lab named Molly. As an avid duck hunter, Tommy’s goals were to have an exceptional hunting dog. Through mentorships and self-study, he became obsessed with the art of dog training. Dreams of one day opening a kennel stayed on the back burner for many years. In 2017 he quit his career and applied for every job that had anything to do with dogs in the area. He spent the next two years cleaning kennels, bathing dogs, trimming nails, learning how to groom, and eventually became a trainer. He credits a lot of his knowledge to those early days figuring out how to get aggressive dogs into the bath, anxious dogs out of their kennels, and learning how to effectively communicate with them. 

Two years ago Tommy became interested in protection dog sports and working dogs which quickly led to a whole new passion and obsession. Today he trains with a Mondioring club and gets the opportunity to learn from and train with some of the best dog handlers and decoys in the country. In 2022, Tommy became a certified Mondioring Decoy, making him one of the only trained decoys in the area.
